The Do’s and Don’ts of Recycling

Plastic/Aluminum Recycling

Plastic bottles and aluminum cans.

No toys, buckets, oil jugs, chemical bottles, etc.  Remove lids and rinse.

Tire Recycling

Cut tires are free to recycle — cut out the side walls.

Cardboard

Corrugated cardboard is recyclable.

It needs to be just the cardboard — no bags, trash, clothing, etc.  Remove all of the packing material (i.e. styrofoam, bubble wrap, plastic)

Paper

Newspaper, magazines, office paper, books.

Do not bag the paper. No plastic or metal. Remove the covers on hardback books.

C&D

Construction debris, furniture, mattresses, box springs, etc.

No paint cans, oil bottles, caulking tubes, plastic toys, household trash, electronics, light bulbs, or clothing.

Clean Rubble

Concrete and brick — NO wood

Brush

Tree limbs — no trash or boards of any kind

Compost

Grass clippings, leaves, plants.

No bags, trash or tree limbs.
